By the end of this learning activity students will:

  • Describe what unacceptable, acceptable, good and exemplary course participation looks like.
  • Identify what type of assignment should accompany the ethics certificate.
  • Describe what an unacceptable, acceptable, good and exemplary ethics assignment should look like.
  • Outline the success criteria for the project plan.
  • Describe what an unacceptable, acceptable, good and exemplary project plan looks like.
  • Describe what an unacceptable, acceptable, good and exemplary project looks like.

These ends in view are designed to help students meet the following course learning objectives:

  • 3A:  Plan a project that will examine a specific nursing issue in depth.
  • 3D: Contribute to the development of success criteria for course projects.

 


In Preparation

  • Read the evaluation process description.
  • Review the rubrics page.
  • Save/print this adapted rubric, which will be used to evaluate your rubrics.
  • Review these course objectives.
  • Draft ideas for the ethics assignment.
  • Brainstorm success criteria for the project plan, course participation, ethics assignment and final project. 
    • You will be asked to share your ideas during the live session. If you cannot make it live you may submit your ideas early via this form if you have not already done so.

Attend the live session or view the recording. During the live session we will:

  • Jason Corcoran will describe his experience in the gradeless classroom.
  • Share ideas for the ethics assignment.
  • Discuss your brainstormed ideas for the project plan, course participation, ethics assignment and final project.
  • Identify groups to focus on refining the success criteria for each evaluation component of the course.

 


Progress to Praxis (Participation) 

  • DONE: Discuss ideas for the ethics assignment. Share your ideas in a blog or inside Moodle.
  • Individually or in groups refine success criteria for the project plan (Still in progress), course participation (near completion), or ethics assignment (done) based on these course objectives (Objective 3D). Share your ideas directly in the Google document, in a blog or inside Moodle.
